It was astonishing to find how Navillus were working with raw HTML with their existing software to manage an extensive portfolio of online products. This convoluted approach for managing their content was very restrictive, resulting in a static and uninspiring website. It was also preventing them from carrying out sales and marketing activities now considered basic requirements for the success of any business to business website.
With OmCore’s catalogue module we were able to introduce a number of dynamic interface techniques to engage the end user throughout the browsing experience. Built in features such as product categorisation, related products, and product tags, enable the user to find their own route around extensive product lists. With the new ‘Enquiry Basket’ feature Navillus can now glean detailed information from their client base for a more informed customer response.
Initially the client had concerns that a completely new website production would have a detrimental effect on their current search engine placement. In less than a week from launch, with the help of our built in 301 page redirects, search engines had updated their caches. OmCore’s automated search engine optimisation features meant that within a month the products were being listed higher than before.
With our easy to use standards compliant HTML text editor we’ve not only slashed the time previously taken to manage their product details, the business can now actively increase their online sales and marketing starting with the publication of regular blogs articles. We’ve also enabled them to promote their specialist in-house design skills with the publication of high impact imagery used to push featured products.
