Publishing your first blog

1. This guide will take you through the steps involved in creating a blog page containing the News Blog content type, and creating your first blog.
2. For more information on the Blog module and its content types see guide to the The News Blog module.
3. To complete this guide you will need to understand the steps covered in: Managing content and Managing pages.

Creating a page for your blog

1. Go to: Website / Site tree.
2. Click on the Add page icon in the Site tree's toolbar, to display a blank page form.
3. Enter a Page name. E.g. "Blog".
4. Enter a URL. E.g. "blog".
5. For the Published option, on the Info panel, select the Yes radio button.
6. Click the Save button at the foot of the form.
7. You have now created a blog page on your website into which we'll now add the News Blog content type.

Adding a News Blog content type to your Blog page 

1. Go to: Website / Site tree.
2. Select the Blog page in the Site tree.
3. Click the Add content icon in the Site tree's toolbar to display a blank content form.
4. Enter a Title for your content type. E.g. "Blog".
5. From the Content type select menu select the News Blog option.
6. A select menu will appear displaying the News Blog's content types.
7. From the News Blog's content types select menu, select the News Blog option.
8. For the Published option, on the Info panel, select the Yes radio button.
9. Click the Save button to insert the News Blog content type into your page.

Creating your first blog

1. Go to: Add ons / Blog.
2. Click the Add button in the toolbar.
3. A pop-up will appear containing a blank form.
4. In the Title field enter the heading of your blog article.
5. In the Summary field enter an introduction to your blog.
6. In the Full article text editor enter the full article of your blog.
7. On the Info panel select the Published option's "Yes" radio button.
8. Click the "Save & close" button.
9. The form popup window will close and the new blog will be listed.
10. Your blog will now be displayed by the News Blog content type on the Blog page of your website.

Previewing your blog

1. Go to: Website / Site tree.
2. Select your Blog page on the site tree.
3. In the top right hand corner of OmCore, in the Users panel, click the "Preview" link.
4. The front end of your website will open in preview mode, within a new window, displaying the Blog page.
