Getting around in OmCore

OmCore's interface

OmCore's interface consists of the following areas:

The OmCore logo

  1. Situated in the top left corner of the interface, the OmCore logo provides a link to the dashboard module.

The navigation area

  1. The navigation area displays links to the modules that the current user has access to.
  2. Modules are grouped into the following areas of relevance: Website, Marketing, eCommerce, and Add ons.
  3. Clicking a group will display the modules it contains.
  4. Clicking a module will load the module within in the main area.

The user panel

  1. Situated in the top right corner of the interface, the user panel contains the following elements:

Account holder's name

Displays the full name of the current user.

Admin dropdown menu (admin users only)

Contains links to the following administrative modules:

  1. Account settings
    1. Allows core settings of OmCore to be configured.
    2. For more information see The Account Settings Module
  2. Manage users
    1. Loads the Users module, where OmCore’s user accounts can be managed.
    2. For more information see The Users Module.
  3. Manage roles
    1. Opens the Users module’s roles component, where user roles can be managed.
    2. For more information see The User Groups Module.

Support menu

Contains links to OmCore’s help and support related areas:

  1. Documentation - Opens the OmCore documentation website in a new window.
  2. Raise a support ticket - Opens a popup form providing a quick and easy way to submit new support tickets to OmCore’s help desk.
  3. About OmCore - Displays information on the current version of OmCore.

Preview link

  1. The preview link loads a preview version of the front end of your website.
  2. Using the preview link while in different areas of OmCore will load different areas of your website. For example, using the link when a page is selected in the site tree will load that particular page of your website.

Log out link

  1. Logs the current user out of OmCore and displays the login form.

Automated log out timer

  1. For security, inactive users are automatically logged out of OmCore after a specific number of minutes.
  2. Displayed as a number on the far right of the user panel, the timer presents how many minutes are remaining before the current user is logged out.
  3. The number of minutes can be set within Admin / Account settings.

The main area

  1. Consisting of the remaining space below the logo, navigation, and user panel, the main area is where modules and other OmCore content is displayed.
