Getting around in OmCore

The module toolbar

  1. Displayed across the top of the main area, the module toolbar contains options for adding and deleting items from the current module, filtering the items listed, and pagination options for traversing pages of items.
  2. The options displayed for each module depend on the individual module and the access privileges of the current user.
  3. Some modules may contain bespoke options, these will be covered in the module's documentation within the Modules section.

Available options

Add button

  1. Opens a blank form allowing new items to be inserted into the module.
  2. See Adding items to modules

Delete button

  1. Deletes the currently selected item(s).
  2. A confirmation pop up helps against accidental deletion.

Text search filter

  1. Allows the items listed to be filtered to only show those containing a text string within a specific data field.
  2. To filter the items:
    1. Select a data field from the select menu.
      A text field will appear for you to enter your search string.
    2. Enter a search string into the text field and press return.
      The items listed will be filter to only show those containing the text string within the selected data field.
  3. To reset the filter select the “Search...” option from the select menu.

Category filters

  1. Some modules allow their items to be grouped into categories.
  2. Category filters only display the categories to which items are assigned. For example, a module may have 5 categories but if only 2 of the categories have items assigned to them then only those 2 categories will be listed in the category filter.
  3. Selecting a category will filter the items to only show those assigned to the selected category.
  4. An “-- unassigned --” option shows items which are not assigned to any category.

The View mode option

  1. Modules containing images may have a View mode option.
  2. Clicking the icon toggles the module’s presentation between Table view and Thumbnail view.

Display number

  1. The number of items listed is set using the display number field.
  2. To set a new display number enter a number into the display number field and press the return key on your keyboard.
  3. When the display number set is lower than the number of items contained within a module, the items will be displayed over a number of pages. To traverse the pages of items pagination options are displayed.

Display information

  1. To the right of the display number field is displayed information on the current number of items being listed and which items in the list are currently being displayed. In the above example, the first to fifth of twenty items are being displayed.

Pagination

  1. The pagination options are displayed when the number of items are presented across more than one page, allowing the user to traverse the pages of items.
  2. The pagination options consist of:
    1. “« First” link
      1. Displays the first page of items.
      2. This option is not displayed when the first page of items is displayed.
    2. “‹ Previous” link
      1. Displays the previous page of items.
      2. This option is not displayed when the first page of items is displayed.
    3. “Next ”link
      1. Displays the next page of items.
      2. This option is not displayed when the last page of items is displayed.
    4. “Last” link
      1. Displays the last page of items.
      2. This option is not displayed when the last page of items is displayed.
